A good remodel plan connects the room you want with the work needed to get there. Make these decisions easier before requesting a proposal.

## Describe what needs to work better

Write down the problems you want the remodel to solve. More usable storage, a different shower layout, easier maintenance, better lighting, or replacing worn materials are clearer starting points than a collection of unrelated inspiration photos.

Separate the items you need from the upgrades you would like. That gives the discussion a useful order if the initial scope needs to be adjusted. Include the things you want to keep; keeping a cabinet, fixture or surface can affect adjacent work.

## Gather the choices you already know

Collect a few reference photos and identify what you like about each one. Bring material information, measurements or sketches if you have them. You can request a conversation without having every selection finished.

For kitchens, discuss cabinets, countertops, backsplashes, appliances and flooring together. For bathrooms, discuss tile, shower details, fixtures, storage and transitions. Ask which choices need to be made before a firm proposal can be prepared.

## Plan for the occupied home

Talk through which rooms will remain in use, where the crew can enter, and how adjacent areas and personal belongings will be protected. Ask about debris removal, deliveries and temporary facilities if a kitchen or bathroom will be unavailable.

Discuss which permits and licensed trades the proposed scope may need and how those parts will be coordinated. Make changes to the written scope understandable before the work starts rather than trying to reconstruct a conversation later.

## Request a scope you can understand

Tell Jordan the property location, rooms affected, desired changes and any other foundation or roof concerns. Photos of the existing room help start the discussion.
